After Friday’s exploration of the imaginary Cranford, we invite you to take a walking and coach tour of the real places that were associated with Elizabeth Gaskell: from the Cross Street Chapel to the Portico Library, and from the house where she lived in Plymouth Grove to the real-life inspiration for Cranford, take this opportunity to walk in Gaskell's footsteps and learn about her life and achievements. Our tour guide is Ed Glinert from New Manchester Walks and author of The Manchester Compendium and Literary London. There will be time for lunch in Knutsford, and the tour will arrive back in Manchester at approximately 5.30pm.
