MLF and Instituto Cervantes are honoured to present Uberto Stabile, writer, editor and Cultural Director at the Huelva Council in Southern Spain. In the 80s, his passion to spread culture and make it accessible to every social class led Stabile to found Cafe Cavallers de Neu, a meeting place for writers, singers and painters. His latest poetry collection, Tatuaje, was published in 2009, and he has also translated books of renowned authors and musicians such as Pasolini, Ginsberg, Kerouac, Burroughs and Lou Reed. MLF and Instituto Cervantes are proud to present one of Spain’s leading comic book artists, Miguelanxo Prado. He began his career in the 1980s when the adult comic was at its peak in Spain, publishing stories in the best magazines of that time, including Creepy, Comix Internacional,1984, Zona 84, El Jueves, Cairo and Cimoc. He has since worked drawing characters for the Spanish TV programme Xabarin Club and Steven Spielberg’s Men in Black, and collaborated in the feature film De Profundis. In 1998, he was named chairman of La Coruna´s comic showcase in Spain. This event will be in Spanish with simultaneous translation into English.
